Worth knowing

This award recognizes off-court service as a coach, referee, volunteer or board member, not playing performance. Service can include refereeing a season of mini ball or helping run a tournament. AMBA's site moved to TeamLinkt and took the scholarships page with it, so the old link 404s and no criteria are published anywhere as of September 2026. The last advertised window was January 8 to February 26. Contact the association to confirm it is still offered.

About this scholarship

One $500 award from Airdrie Minor Basketball for someone who gave time to the association off the court, as a coach, referee, volunteer or board member, and is now enrolled full time in post-secondary study. It honours Colin McKenna's work building basketball in Airdrie. The application is a short essay judged blind.
