CABEF Agricultural Scholarships
Seven scholarships of $2,500 from the Canadian Agri-Business Education Foundation for students entering or early in an agriculture or agri-food program at a Canadian college, university or trade school.
Read the regional split before you judge your odds: of the seven awards, only TWO go to Western Canada, which for CABEF means BC, Alberta, the Territories and Yukon combined. Two more go to Central Canada and three to the East. You must be entering first year, or currently in second or third year; students in their FINAL year are not eligible, and neither are graduate or professional programs. You must be at least 16 at the time of applying and enrolled full-time in an agriculture or agri-food related undergraduate program, which includes trade school and apprenticeship routes rather than degrees alone. Past recipients cannot reapply. Judged on leadership plus a written or video answer to a set question about an emerging issue in Canadian agriculture, so a video is a legitimate alternative to an essay here. The 2026 round closed April 30 with winners notified by May 31; winners then send proof of enrolment by September 30 and are paid within 30 days. Verified against cabef.org on 2026-09-08.
