Burman University Leadership & Service Scholarship

A sliding award of $250 to $2,000 based on leadership and service over the last two years, at school, in the community, at church or elsewhere. Everyone who qualifies receives something; a committee reads the application and the references and sets the amount. One line in the criteria decides most applications: paid positions do not count as service or leadership.

References are required to verify every claim of service or leadership, and there is a separate reference form. Open to Canadian citizens and to anyone who previously attended a Canadian or American high school or post-secondary institution. Burman publishes no calendar date for this one. The university's scholarship submission deadline governs it, and that moves each year, so check the Burman deadlines page once you have an offer of admission.
