SCHOLARSHIP STEM OPENING SOON

BioTalent Canada I.D.E.A.L. Scholarship

NATIONAL
WHO CAN APPLY
Students entering first year of a biosciences program who are Indigenous, have a disability, or are newcomers

Three $10,000 awards, one each for Indigenous students, students with a disability and newcomers, for students entering first year of a biosciences program.

Three awards of $10,000, one for each of the three groups: Indigenous students, students with a disability, and newcomers who have been in Canada less than five years. CEGEP students receive $5,000. This is strictly an entrance award and BioTalent says so plainly: students beyond first year or in non-biosciences programs are screened out. Eligible programs are broad and include biotechnology, biochemistry, health sciences, environmental biology and biomedical programs, so anything that leads into the bioeconomy is worth checking. Because it splits three ways by category rather than pooling everyone, the odds are much better than a general national scholarship. You need your acceptance letter. Canadian citizens, permanent residents and newcomers already in Canada qualify, but international students on a visa do not. Applications in the 2026 cycle closed June 8.
