Albert and Maria Rimer Memorial Scholarship
Bert Rimer gave Leduc County $50,000 in memory of his parents to fund this for Warburg High School graduates. The amount varies year to year but will be at least $1,000. The primary target is a post-secondary major in agriculture or agricultural food, with secondary consideration for applicants in health sciences and medicine, and you cannot have received it before. Warburg is a village of a few hundred people, so the field this competes against is very small.
Leduc County takes this one directly rather than through a school, and the successful applicant has to supply a social insurance number and birthdate afterwards. Financial need is weighed alongside the stated criteria.
