Worth knowing

Sixteen awards, roughly one per U18 AAA team, which makes the field your own dressing room, not the province. You can still apply up to one year after your last registered season. The money never reaches you directly. It is paid to your institution, and you have five years to collect it before it is forfeited. The league page gives only a January opening, so the March date comes from Hockey Alberta's own announcement.

About this scholarship

The Alberta Elite Hockey League has paid out more than $500,000 since 2006, weighing character, hockey ability, marks and financial need together.
