Adam Stychin Be Positive Award
Named to honour Adam Stychin, who intended to follow his love of woodworking into a career as an architect and to build a bee farm. It goes to two students who completed Construction and Fabrication 30, showed exceptional kindness and a willingness to help others, and took part in school events. The course requirement is the hard gate; the rest is character, which makes it a genuine shot for a shop student whose transcript is unremarkable.
Paul Kane collects this one and its handout gives April 10 as the date, with no year attached, so it is an annual cutoff rather than a one-off. The handout also says every detail in it is subject to change, so confirm the date with Student Services before you plan around it.
