Summer programs
DURATION
31 to 33 days for ages 16 and up, spring or summer; 19 to 21 days for ages 13 to 15, summer only
GRADES
Ages 13 to 15 and 16 and up, depending on the host institution
LOCATION
Host universities and colleges across Canada, including Quebec and the Atlantic provinces
WHO CAN APPLY
Canadian citizen or permanent resident who has been a student for at least one term in the current school year, or took part in Odyssey in the last two years. No French level is required, from beginner up. Places are awarded by a randomized computer draw, not on merit, and applicants who miss the first draw go into a wait pool for institutional draws from March to July.
ABOUT THIS PROGRAM
Application portals open September 14, 2026 for the 2027 sessions. Explore is a federally funded bursary covering tuition, accommodation and meals for a spring or summer French immersion session in another province, for students aged 16 and up.
