Worth knowing

After applying for admission, complete the Entrance Awards for Black Students form under Awards and Financial Aid in the Waterloo applicant portal. Applicants must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons. The faculty page excludes Software Engineering and Computing and Financial Management. Payments after the first year require an 80% average and five courses per term. The estimated deadline is April 15, 2027. The 2027 date is not published yet; this is last year's date moved forward one year.

About this scholarship

This scholarship provides $10,000 to $20,000 over eight academic terms for Black students entering Waterloo's Faculty of Mathematics. Selection considers academics and community involvement, with preference for students who explain how the funding would affect their studies.
