ABOUT THIS SCHOLARSHIP
The Rotary Club of Cochrane funds one $5,000 bursary at each of the three Cochrane high schools every year. It is a grant based on clearly demonstrated financial need and satisfactory academic achievement rather than on academic excellence alone.
Rotary is explicit that a bursary is not a scholarship: the money follows need, not the top transcript. Each school picks its own recipient with the club advising, and Rotary asks that students in the trades be considered alongside academic students. The programme has paid out over $75,000 since 1997.
HOW TO APPLY
1 Talk to your school guidance counsellor about this award.
2 Ask about internal school deadlines, which can be earlier than the listed one.
3 Submit your application through your school before April 1, 2027.
