SCHOLARSHIP INDIGENOUS 38 DAYS LEFT

Métis Scholar Awards

ALBERTA
WHO CAN APPLY
Métis citizens in full-time studies at Alberta post-secondary institutions

Métis Education Foundation endowments at 22 Alberta post-secondary institutions, each administered by the school, plus two awards the Foundation holds for students elsewhere.

This is an endowment program, not a single scholarship. The Métis Education Foundation and Rupertsland Institute have negotiated endowments at 22 Alberta institutions including the University of Alberta, University of Calgary, University of Lethbridge, NAIT, SAIT, MacEwan, Mount Royal, Athabasca, Bow Valley, Concordia, Keyano, King's, Lakeland, Lethbridge College, Medicine Hat College, NorQuest, Northern Lakes, Northwestern Polytechnic, Olds, Portage and Red Deer Polytechnic. Each institution administers its own award, sets its own criteria and its own deadline, so apply directly to the school you are attending and ask their awards office. The University of Calgary runs a separate entrance stream, which is the one to look at if you are coming straight out of grade 12. The October 15 deadline here is for the two awards the Foundation holds itself, which are open to Métis citizens at institutions where no endowment exists. You must be a citizen of the Otipemisiwak Métis Government, a registered member of the Otipemisiwak Métis Student Association, enrolled full time and an Alberta resident, and you cannot be receiving other Rupertsland funding.

1 Read the full requirements on the official website.
2 Prepare your documents and any references it asks for.
