ABOUT THIS SCHOLARSHIP
One award of $1,000 in memory of a Fort McMurray emergency room nurse, for a practical nursing student who has overcome barriers on the way to becoming a student. It is the only award in the book that treats adversity itself as the qualification.
Practical nursing rather than the degree, which is a shorter and cheaper route many students overlook. The award exists specifically for someone whose path to the classroom was difficult.
