Worth knowing

Ten awards of $25,000, against 160 at $10,000 in the companion Canadian Scholarships stream, so there are fewer awards, each worth two and a half times as much. Same requirements as the rest of the Horatio Alger slate. You apply in Grade 11, with a household net income of $80,000 or less, a 70 percent average, and Canadian citizenship or permanent residence. Open in every province and territory. The window is January 1 to March 31.
