Leduc County takes this one directly rather than through a school, and the successful applicant has to supply a social insurance number and birthdate afterwards. Financial need is weighed alongside the stated criteria.

About this scholarship

Katie Dringenberg left Leduc County $20,000 to start this fund, asking that it go to a graduate of Calmar High School, Thorsby High School or Warburg High School. It is awarded annually to a post-secondary student with a declared major in a medical field, and the county names nursing, dentistry, pharmacy and veterinary medicine as examples, not limits. Previous recipients are not eligible again.
