Worth knowing

EducationMatters took down its page for this award in September 2026. ENMAX's own scholarships page still lists it and sends students to EducationMatters or their school scholarship coordinator, so ask your coordinator how to apply this cycle.

How the EducationMatters application works

One EducationMatters application covers every CBE and Calgary Catholic award. It opens March 1, and most awards close May 30, a few May 1. Every one has the same three rules. You must be 20 or younger on September 1, not yet in post-secondary, and applying in your Grade 12 year. Once you leave high school you can no longer apply, so a gap year is fine only if you applied before you graduated.

About this scholarship

Three $2,500 awards for Grade 12 students whose parent or guardian is a permanent ENMAX employee or retiree, at a CBE, Calgary Catholic or other school district high school. You need at least 70 per cent and two reference letters showing ENMAX's values through activities outside class.

1 Ask your guidance counsellor how your school handles this award.
2 Ask for the school deadline too. It is often earlier than the one listed here.
