A $1,000 USD award on a 300 word essay answering how writing impacts today's world. The contest runs a full year, from November 30 to November 29, and past winners are published.
Two things to check before you spend time on it. You must be at least 18 on entry, which rules out a good share of Grade 12 students, and the award is in US dollars. This was listed on Alberta counsellor sheets as the ServiceScape scholarship; the company has since rebranded to editing.services and the old name still points at the right page.
