Worth knowing
Three categories under one program, a scholarship judged on academic merit, a bursary judged on financial need, and a mature student bursary for applicants 30 and over. Open to Canadians with hemophilia A or B, von Willebrand disease, a rare factor deficiency or a platelet function disorder, to carriers, and to anyone who contracted hepatitis C or HIV through a blood transfusion. Spouses and children of those people may also apply. Past recipients cannot win twice. The deadline is April 30 of any given year, which the Society states as a standing annual date, not a per-cycle one. The organization also operates as Bleeding Disorders Canada, so you will see both names.

A $5,000 award from the Canadian Hemophilia Society for Canadians with an inherited bleeding disorder, and for their spouses and children, heading to any post-secondary institution.
