VAPPA Student Bursary
The Vulcan Area Petroleum and Agriculture Partnership Association, made up of landowners, government and energy companies with holdings around Vulcan, pays $1,000 bursaries to local graduates heading into agriculture, oil and gas, medical or emergency services careers.
You must have earned your high school diploma while living in the Town of Vulcan or Vulcan County, and be registered at a post-secondary institution. Send the application with your final Grade 12 transcript, proof of acceptance or enrolment, and an essay of at least 1,000 words on the career you are chasing and why you deserve the award, by May 15. Missing documents can follow later, but the money is not released until after classes start and you have shown proof of enrolment. You may reapply in later years of study, though first-time applicants are considered first.
