Worth knowing

A school nomination for the U of T National Book Award is required by October 9, 2026. Apply for admission by October 16, then use your JOINid to submit the online National Scholarship application by October 30, 2026. The reference letter is due November 6, 2026. Applicants must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons in their final year of a Canadian high school, entering a full-time first undergraduate degree. There is no separate Arbor application; consideration follows the National Scholarship application and selection process.

About this scholarship

This scholarship pays $7,500 in the first year and $1,500 in each of the next three years for a total of $12,000 at the University of Toronto. It is awarded to runners-up in the National Scholarship competition, which assesses academics, creative thinking and contributions to school and community.
