Also known as the John Paton award, this goes to a graduating student who gave time back as a coach, an official, a team manager, a statistician or a scorekeeper.

The fund is built a dollar at a time: every provincial championship charges each competing student an extra loonie and sends it to the office. Applications are judged by your own zone rather than provincially, by a panel of at least three teachers or zone executives. Volunteering in the community counts equally with volunteering at school, which matters if your school had no opening.
