Worth knowing

Forty awards are available. Graduate students may study outside Alberta, but undergraduates must be at an Alberta institution. Applicants must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons. Alberta residency requires a parent or legal guardian to have lived permanently in Alberta for 12 consecutive months immediately before post-secondary study, the applicant’s last six consecutive months of residence immediately before study to have been in Alberta, or a spouse or partner’s six consecutive months of Alberta residence before study. Undergraduates must study at an Alberta institution, while Alberta-resident graduate and postgraduate students may study outside Alberta.

About this scholarship

Named for the 1929 ruling that made women legally persons in Canada, this $2,500 award goes to students working to advance gender equality in the arts, humanities and social sciences.
