SCHOLARSHIP GENERAL OPENS SEPTEMBER 14, 2026
Persons Case Scholarship
ALBERTA
WHO CAN APPLY
Alberta students in the arts, humanities or social sciences advancing gender equality
ABOUT THIS SCHOLARSHIP
Named for the 1929 ruling that made women legally persons in Canada, this $2,500 award goes to students working to advance gender equality in the arts, humanities and social sciences.
Forty awards, and unlike its two sister scholarships this one is not restricted to women: it is open to any student whose gender is underrepresented or disadvantaged in their field, which is how men in nursing-adjacent and care fields have qualified. Graduate students may study outside Alberta; undergraduates must be at an Alberta institution.
