One award a year, never less than $500, for a Bassano High School student. The Order of the Eastern Star says participation in student activities and community volunteering is essential, and that you need good average marks rather than the highest ones.
Worth knowing
The money is paid once you show proof of registration at a Canadian institution, and you have until September 30 of the year after you graduate. Miss that and it passes to the next student who qualifies.
