ABOUT THIS SCHOLARSHIP
The foundation started by former premier Ed Stelmach awards three $2,750 scholarships a year to Grade 12 students from a set list of communities northeast of Edmonton.
Open to students finishing Grade 12 at a public or Catholic high school in Lamont, Two Hills, Fort Saskatchewan, New Myrnam, Tofield, Viking or Vegreville. You need at least 80 percent in Social Studies, acceptance at a post-secondary institution, a 500 word essay covering your goals, your community involvement, hardship you have come through and your financial need, and a reference letter from someone in your community. Applications are mailed and have to arrive by May 1.
