Canadian Parents for French FSL Award
The Canadian Parents for French Parkland Chapter funds this at both Spruce Grove Composite and Memorial Composite for a student who has had no past French Immersion and has completed a 30 level French course. The criteria say plainly that academic marks are not a criterion. What it wants instead is outstanding leadership in promoting French language learning, both personally and in the community, which makes it winnable by a student whose French mark is ordinary but who ran the club.
This one is offered at both Parkland high schools, and each collects it its own way: Spruce Grove Composite through its April awards package, Memorial Composite in the spring of Semester 2. Neither publishes a fixed calendar date that repeats, so ask your own Student Services.
