Burman University Orchestral Scholarship

Up to two awards of $8,000, the largest arts award anywhere in the Lacombe set. You submit a video of yourself playing an approved piece on an orchestral instrument and the Burman music faculty adjudicates. Strings, woodwinds, brass, percussion and keyboard all qualify, and other instruments may be considered case by case. Preference goes to a student entering a music program, but any student who meets the criteria is eligible.

The award is paid half in the fall and half in the winter, and you must register in the Orchestra, Camerata Ensemble or another approved group each term, for credit or audit. If no submission is good enough the award may not be given at all.
